ANRA is a memorial preservation project dedicated to Algerian rap. Born from filmmaker Nabil Djedouani's simple idea of creating the Digital Archives of Algerian Cinema, thanks to him and to the activists we first acquired significant archives over the years, which allowed us to build today a platform entirely dedicated to Algerian Rap. We collect, archive and restore the sound, visual and documentary heritage of a pioneering scene of Hip Hop.
This project would not exist without the generosity of many people who shared their archives, their time and their memories. Nabil Djedouani (Director, film restoration specialist and founder of the Digital Archives of Algerian Cinema), Aziz Smati (Algerian producer, director and TV host) and his two lifelong companions, the late Farid Rockeur, and Kamel Dynamite, Malik Bourbia (Fada Vex) (Rapper and activist), Smail Esco (Activist), Arslane Mokhtar Belkacemi (Activist), Soheib Kehal (Rapper, activist and director of the feature film روح الهيب هوب الخالدة في الجزائر), Mohamed Amine Benloulou (Director), M'Trig L'Trig (Rap group), Sofiane Hamma (Rapper, former member of Hamma Boys), Ammar Bourghoud (Activist), Nardjesse Zerhouni (Activist), Reda Boudi (Activist and founder of K7MATIK), Momo Genius (Activist), Samir Meghelli (Historian and former rapper), Slimane Gitman (Rapper and activist), Sidali Guissous 'Tarek' (archive collector), Adem Akkek et Ayman Merabet (Activists and founders of K3chmedia), Nassim Saci (Systeman) (Rapper and producer of the show DRP RAP CUP), DJ Yazid (DJ and event organizer), DJ SL (Founder of the label Third Rap Record), DJ Boss, Mehdi B. and the whole Rap-algerien.com team, Hakim Lefgoum HKM, Neo AMC (Comic artist), Klash16 (Comic artist), DJ Kada (Founder of the group Deep Voice, TOP 31, radio El Bahia), One-Der (Activist), Amina Aissi (Turbo Music, Alger Chaîne 3), Reda Mehanni (El Moutanakil). To R3V3R532R3V0L7UT10N1Z3 and to all the anonymous contributors who work every day so this culture is never forgotten. In memory of Hadj Miliani, academic researcher who worked for decades on the study and preservation of Algerian cultural heritage, notably raï music and rap. And in memory of Cherif Aflah, who gave his life to lift the rap scene, unjustly murdered in November 1999 by the barbarians of obscurantism.
